Michael C. Hall is an American actor who was born and bought up in North Carolina. He was the second child of his parents and had a sister who had died in her infancy before Michael was born. Michael lost his father when he was only eleven years old, after his father died of cancer. He attended the Ravenscroft School in Raleigh and later went on to graduate from Earlham College in Richmond. Later he attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and graduated with a degree in Master of Fine Arts in Acting. In May 2002, Michael married actress Amy Spanger. However the marriage lasted for only four years as the two divorced in 2006. Michael eloped with co-star Jennifer Carpenter, on 31st December 2008 and got married to her at Big Sur, California. Jennifer plays the role of his sister on the crime series Dexter.
Michael started his acting career by doing shows in theatre. He has acted in plays like Macbeth, Cymbeline, Timon of Athens, Henry V, The English Teachers and Corpus Christi etc. In addition he has acted in the shows Bereft and Six Feet Under on television, besides working in the movies Paycheck and Game. He has also performed in the soundtrack for Six Feet Under. In addition, he was seen as himself on shows like The Daily Show, Entertainment Tonight, Live with Regis and Kathy Lee and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno etc. Currently, he can be seen playing the role of a psychopath serial killer on the crime series Dexter, for which he has also been the co-executive producer of ten episodes. Michael, in his very short career has already been nominated for 14 different awards which include three Golden Globe nominations and two Emmy Award nominations. In addition he has also won five other awards.
Role In Dexter
In Dexter, he plays the title role of Dexter Morgan. He lives a double life as he is a blood pattern analyst, who works for the Miami PD during the day, and a vigilante serial killer, out to punish people who have escaped justice, during the night. He comes across as a caring and loving brother, and lover who will do anything to protect his sister Debra and the love of his life Rita and her adorable kids. However, his deep dark secret is known only to him and he can go to any lengths to prevent his secret from being revealed.
